Kansas State Legislature Changes Name Of Liberal, KS To Conservative, KS

In an effort to better align with “the spirit” of its citizenry, the Kansas State Legislature passed a bill today to permanently rename the city of Liberal, Kansas to Conservative, Kansas.

The bill addresses the “egregious misnomer” that has existed since the town was founded and named by S.S. Rogers in 1885. Governor Sam Brownback enthusiastically announced his intention to “redress this abomination” by signing the bill “as soon as it is delivered to his desk” by a contingent of freedom-loving legislators.

Brownback is also expected to sign a bill banning liberal arts colleges as soon a legal framework to destroy the academic tenure system is created.
